The Native model has been a mainstay of Spyderco’s product line since its introduction in 1997. A shining example of the quality and affordability of our American-made products, it has steadily evolved to its current fifth-generation design. In its lightweight configuration, it has also joined our elite Salt Series of cutting tools specifically designed for use in and around the water. This expression of the Native 5 Lightweight Salt features an ultra-corrosion-resistant LC200N blade and a signature high-visibility green handle. The satin-finished blade is full-flat ground for exceptional edge geometry and includes an index-finger choil to support a forward-positioned grip during detailed cutting tasks. Its linerless handle is injection molded from fiberglass-reinforced-nylon (FRN) and includes a non-slip Bi-Directional Texture pattern for a secure grip, even with wet hands. The handle houses the knife’s precision-machined back lock mechanism and also includes a four-position pocket clip that offers a choice of right or left-side, tip-up or tip-down carry.
